Copper functionality
FIDS provides simple, easy to use functions for the placement and management of all copper facilities. The software automatically creates a connectivity model as each function is placed. The robust data base structure allows for simple generation of CPR data. The open architecture and ODBC interface of FIDS permits easy integration with other software systems.

Tracing
The unique node edge model of FIDS provides connectivity information that permits tracing at the Route, Pair Range, or Pair Level.

Loop qualification
FIDS collects and presents the length of a trace from a defined starting point to an ending point to allow for a complete loop make up.

Subscriber Interface
FIDS provides screens that can be accessed by anyone connected to the network that allows editing of data in the map.

Cable throw
The tracing capability and network connectivity for automated cable throws throughout the network.

Feature Placement
FIDS has modular functions for the placement of telephone features. The modularity allows for quick and easy addition of new and different telephone features.

Work Print Management
FIDS has a built in work print manager that provides a graphical interface for the creation, retrieval, and deletion of work prints.

Break Cable
FIDS has a built-in "break" function that lets the user break a cable to insert a feature, while automatically maintaining connectivity.

Area Transfer
FIDS has the unique ability to "clip" out an area of the map and transfer to a different area. The software maintains the data base intelligence and correct geographical orientation of the elements.
